Police Officer Stabbed by Ex Husband

An off duty police officer has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed 5 times, 3 of which in the shoulder by her ex husband.The 46 year old woman was attacked at on Aberdeen Place, Stanhope Gardens just last night.

She was chased by the man after attempting to flee him. She rushed onto to a nearby neighbours house crying for help. It was then that a neighbor saw what was happening and stopped it before it escalated. “As I approached he stabbed her two or three times in the shoulder area,” he alleged.

“(There was) huge banging at the front door, the screen door,” witness Matt Forster said.

The woman was treated on scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition but has been stabilised.

The man was seen fleeing into the bush land shortly after the incident, but has since been tracked down by authorities and was taken to the same hospital for treatment and Is currently under police guard. The man is yet to be charged with charge of wounding and assault.
