Man arrested and charged with human Trafficking and sexually exploiting young teens

Calgary police have charged a man with human trafficking an dsexually exploiting underage girls. In an investigation spanning over several months, police say that a man posted online advertisements, selling sexual services to clients. He had allegedly found a 15 year old girl online and had recruited her between March 2020 and February 2021.

Police say that the man would transport the teen to pre-arranged locations. He would not know a single detail about the client he was meeting, but was aware of what ‘sexual acts’ that would occur at the time.

“The victim would often be given very little of the money, while the accused kept the majority of the funds for himself”, said in a statement by Calgary police.

A police officer who is involved in this investigation, has stated that ‘this one case is just a small part of a much larger problem of human trafficking and sexual exploitation in the city’.

Detective Spence has urged anyone with information on the case at hand and any other instances of human trafficking to come forward.
