Man Arrested After Holding up Gas Station

A 34-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery and attempted armed robbery and was arrested after he was accused of shooting a gun and demanding cash during an armed hold up at a petrol station in Stratton.
The man was wanted over two armed robberies in the same area, he was taken into custody two days ago after a police pursuit. Allegedly the first crime took place at about 7:30 on Sunday at an IGA on O’Connor Road in Stratton.
Police have said that the man, who was armed with a firearm at the time, approached an attendant at a checkout and demanded cash. He then went on to empty the cash register and fleeing from the scene.
The second crime is alleged to have took place at 10:10pm on Monday night at a petrol station on Farrell Road. Police say that the man threatened a staff member with a gun before firing a blank round at the wall to frighten them. He then proceeded to run from the scene.
Later that night, Tactical Response Group, Canine Unit, Midlandd Detectives as-well as Kiara Police, raided the man‘s Stratton home in Cockman Cross and arrested him. He was set to appear at Perth’s Magistrates Court yesterday.
